In mid-June 1951, as a result of orders received from the Central and South
China Military Area Command to help expedite the shipment of supplies to the
Canton area,, TE'IG Hsi-chiehl, commander of the 130 Division, announced that
from 21 June ports in the following areas in southern Kwangturig would be
reopened to commercial traffic: Nant" ou (113-56, 22-31),, apaengwan (114-22,
22-30), ffouhaiwm (Deep Bay, 113-55, 22-30), Ch? ihwan ~' ) 2 and Taoh?tan
(113.60, 22-30).
2. In early July vessels entering or leaving these ports were carefully inspected
by sea-patrol units of the Pearl River Delta Command Headquarters.
3. On the morning of 17 June the Soviet freighter, SS VAKOV3, arrived at Boca
Tigris (113-41, 22v-49) from Canton with 300 large barrels of gasoline, 20
trucks, 200 large bales of cloth, and 1,000 cases of ammunition. The ship did
not discharge but picked up 100 7.9-mm rifles and 20 mortars at Boca Tigri.a,
and left that evening for Yulin. According to Chinese Communist troops in
the Boos Tigris area, the ammunition, rifles and mortars were to be trans-
shipped at Yulin and sent in other vessels to the Viet !Minh troops in
Indochina.
4. In early July 1951 approximately 5,000 tons of gasoline, crude rubber and
truck tires were sent north from the nuangsha Railroad Station in Canton,
5~ txa. 12 July there were 10,000 pieces of steel plates and large amounts of
hardware under heavy guard at the iluangaha Railroad Station, Canton.
6. On 2 and 3 July, 100 drums of fuel and 2 boxes of ammunition, which had been
stored in Chinese Communist army warehouses in the Vvhampoa area, were sent
on two motor junks from Nhampoa to a newly constructed warehouse on Wailing-

7. On 4 July 500 sets of tires, 11x20, manufactured in England, were sent on
the SS LWGMI I from Macao to Canton.4 These tires had been purcha4od in Ilora,g
Kong iii late June by Ii0 Ch? i-shou5, manager of the Chien Ch ? eng ~~ t3
Company, and had been shipped to Macao on 1. July on the SS TA LAI. HO had
obtained an import permit for these tires from the Macao Ruzeau of Economics
with the stipulation that the tires would be used in Macao, The tires were
unloaded at Wharf 16 and stored in the Taiping warehouse, Macao,
