In early June 10,000 troops from south Fukien were moving aria lbochox toward
fanp3ing (118-O8. 26-39)? In r td June approximately 20,000 troops were moving
south from Tarp' ing along the Foochow-Amy highway. About 3,000 poorly-
equipped troops have arrived along the hi;-,,,way, north of Amoy.
2. On 3 July 2,400 prisoners released by the Central Ywangtung Coi issionerse
Office on 30 June and 1 July were sent via water from Chiangmen (113-06,
2234) to Sanehui (112-54, 23-08) from where they will be sent northward by
train. Central Kvantung authorities state that they are being given a
chance to redeem themselves for past misdeeds by doing hard labor.
3. About 3.300 starving people were sent forcibly to exploit tungsten mines in
Tayu (11419, 25-30) from the following heien: Yingte (113.-21. 24-12)?
Chs int-ruan (113.01, 23-44), Ju a an (113-0k, 24-40), Ch' uchiang (11333,
24-50), Shihheing (11403, 25-02), and rlanhhaiung (11417, 25-13).
4, About 3,500 starving people were sent forcibly to reclaim waste land in

China to Kiangsi and 300,000 others in another group by June. In addition,
200,000 residents of the followin; Kwanntung coastal areas are to be moved
to south Kiangsi: Ch'aochou., Swatow. Shanwei (115-22, 22-47), Chengbai
(116-44, 23-29), 1'Sanao (117-06, 23-22), ?'fai feng, t ufeng (115-38, 2258) .
