(LISTED BELOW) DATE OF SUPPLEMENT TO INFO. 25X1A REPORT NO. 25X1X In late May 1951 HO Hsienl, dhairman of the board of directors of the Imacaao Chamber of Commerce, purchased in Hong Kong 500 sets of Dunlop tires for the Chinese Comaunists oa the mainland. The tires arrived in Macao in early June on the $S TA LAI, and were stored in a warehouse near Wharf Number 6. On 9 and 1f June the tires were sent to Canton on the vessels KUEI NAN and CHANG f?SIW . 2. On 10 June uMAA Wan-ch'i3, vice chairman of the board of directors of the Macao Chinese Chamber of Commerce, met secretly at the Chin Hsing Restaurant with LIANG P'ei and KAO Chen--wu, both members of the i acao Chinese Chamber of Commerce, to discuss methods to be used in obtaining contributions from the Chinese residents of :aoao for the purchase of a plane for the Chinese Communist Air Force. The meeting agreed that the fund must be obtained secretly from Chinese firms in i acao, because public soliciting for such contributions woula be impossible. The goal set was 500,000 Maoao patacas, the approximate cost of a plane of unidentified type.' On 16 June, in a speech delivered at the comnencemerat exercises of the nurses' training school of Ching Liu Hospital, Cacao, HO Hsieh urged the graduates to go to the Chinese mainland to work as nurses, By 19 June 12 of the graduates had registered with the Chinese Communists to go to mainland China. 4. in early June 1951 all unemployed Chinese in i acaao who applied to the Laacao Federation of Labor to go to the mainland for work were given 25 oatties of rice and 10 patsoes per month by the federation of Labor while awaiting clearance from the Chinese Communist authorities. On receiving a permit to enter Communist China, each worker received enough money from the Federation to cover his traveling expenses to his destination. In. early June 30 Chinese workers were sent from 16aoao to the mainland under these ax-rangewents.
