In addition to the scheduled leave trains, regular passenger train was employed as leave train on its runs from Brest-Litovsk to Frankfurt Oz?-` on 9, 11 and 19 April. * Twelve empty coaches and 1 kitchen car were despatched to Brest Litovsk on 7 iiay; 8 empty coaches on 8 LLay; and 12 empty coaches on 9 Lay.. Seventy five officers got off the leave train which arrived in 1{ran:cfurt/Oder from Brest Litovsk.at 5 p.m. on 10 v+ay, and proceeded to the Ilofbauer Kasorne 25X1A II Comment, Two pairs of leave trains, 25X1 25X1 shuttled on the Frankfurt/Oiler-);rest Litovsk railroad line from the beginning of November 1950 until 23 January 1951. There was only one pair of leave trains daily between 24 January and 24 February, while the second 25X1,, pair of leave trains was dropped from the schedule on iron" sda"rs and Fridays and, after 25 February 1951, also on Sundays It seems probable that because the divisions were starting to move to the troop training grounds,, leave traffic to the U.C.'I. was curtailed but the trains returning to Frankfurt Oder still carried personnel returning from furlough,; The passenger train has probably employed to haul these 25X1 troops back to the Soviet Zone of Cerr.any. It is possible that some of the trains may have also carried a limited number of young replacements from the U S S ~R Compare with observations made in Rathenow in raid-April 1951.
