1. The so-called Lignose r2ant in Seloenebecklgaxony, is one of the
Soviet Zones Inf_Oor rroducers of connercial-type exploSives. The plent
orrploys about 4200 persons of whom ebout 400 to 500 are white collar
workers. :-!bst of the production M003 to the UCSR or to '11:milt A.G.
The plant is under the etrict supervision of the Soviet Control Commission.
Zvery two weeks a Soviet insrection team, headed by a major, checks the
records and stocks. The rlant is headed by one Paul Henrrech, a Communist
fran Mille, who is assisted by an engineer named Luther, at business manager,
and another enoinser, Richard Liebe, as production manager.

2. The plant produces various typos of coneercial explosives. Abort 500
workers in one section Produce sone 12 tons of donarite monthly; in another
section 200 workers on 4;710 shifts produce five tons of nChloradit" per
month. Too hundred and fifty workers on two shifts produce a product called '
TRI (probably trinitrotoluene) in unknown quantities. Another section pro-
duces enough nitroglycerin per 'leek to fill one railroad tonk car. This sec-
tion is scheduled to denble its production. The bulk of aheir' output is
used locally for the proinction of about 30 tons of blasting gelatine per
month., met of which goes to lsrut . The nitroglycerin not used locally
is loaded on special ratl tank cars and rerovnd from the plant to an un-
known destination. Sono g0 workers, le two shifts, produce about 30,000
detonators per shift (1,5 million monthly), rostly for the UT711 and lismut
Considerable quantities of this product are stored locally in fireproof
dugouts. Anotho'r section produces percussion oars chiefly of the type used
in hunting rifles, small bore errs (6 nillireter) and alaughterhousul car -
fridges (4.5 and 5 rillineter). All but the latter go to the Soviet Union.
Finally, the pleat Producee fees and primacord. This section works accord-
ing to the Stakhanov voten in brigades of 10 ren. The number of workers
and their Production Is unknown.

About 800 of the workers in the plant belong to the MD. The 5E0 Detriobs-
gruppe has six full-tine employees at the plant. Its chief is "Jerner 1"7odler,
