Hainan, left Chuchlang (4_31, ) Village, east of P/anyu (113.,280 23-01), by
motor junk for Tulin (109-34, 18-13) whore they were to receive marine training

these ships began laying mines in the area from
Nanshameeitao to Tawandhan (113-449 21-56). All fishermen in this area were 50X1-HUM
warned to stay clear of the mined areas.
Chinese Communist vessels along the south Fukien coast were as
follows

b. Changpt7 (117-35, 24-06) coastal area: 2 tugs, 4 motor junks, and 20 junks.

Chinese Communist gunboats from rhs2npoa to the Rsichiang (112-

a. The RSIERFENG (V100 FFNTOU el ), KuoRAN ( AU, JrNmIx (kKi )
Numbers 144, and amlmau; Numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6, all under the Kwangtung
River Defense Command.
b. Thirty-four tungs of the Kwangtung Public Security Bureau. 50X1-HUM
40 wooden vessels, part of an order for 200 such vessels by the Kwang-
tung River Defense Headquarters, from the Ho Tao Dockyard, Yangdhiang (111-53,
21-52), were towed to the rhamnoa area for the fitting of engines and steel
plates. 50X1-HUM
the Kwangtung River Defense Command gunboats CIPIENCRIN (-0,L) and
CRIERFANG left Canton for Chiangmen (113-069 22-54) with approximately 1,000
trained militia as reinforcements for local troops under the Kwangtung Military
District Command.

the gunboat CRI-HFANG left Chiangmen for Canton with approximately
100 drums of gasoline and 200 sets of truck tires aboard. This cargo had arrived
in Chiangmen from Macao.
50X1-HUM,
the Kwangtung Military District Command sent 22 boxes of marine mines,
two mines in each box, to the Kwangtung River Defense Headquarters "Mine Laying
Squad" in the Ruiyangs(114-26, 23-05) area. These mines are to be laid along the
coast in the Hiliyang area. 50X1-HUM

had been completed at the 1";harapoa shipyard. The capacity of these oraftrr
from 4 to 11 persons, end each is equipped with one or two machine guns, 50X1-HUM
two Chinese Communist warships, each approximately 50X1 -HUM
1,000 tons, arrived in the Hsiangshan (121-51, 29-29) Harbor area. They are to
be used for the transporting of food and military supplies to Tinghai (122-06,
30-03) from this area0

the Kwangttmg authorities were building a naval supply base on 50X1-HUM
reichou Island (109- , 21- ). I the Chinese Communist Army 50X1-HUM
6 nigineer Regiment was transferred to weichou Island from Hainan. 50X1-HUM
26 freight cars of building materials arrived at Canton via the Canton-Hankow
Railroad and were stored in the Hsitsvtza ) and Shaho (4 ) areas,
Canton, where they would await shipment to Treichou on the Soviet ihip listen-to-
