1. On 31 January 1951, Rafael. 'ainardi, of Dominican nationality, arrived in
Habana from 'taiquetia, Venezuela. Records indicate that 'Rainardi, married,
27 years of are, a business^an br occupation, had been expelled from Vene-
zuela i*riediately prior to his arrival in Cuba. It is reported further
that "ainardi was active in the Cayo Confites affair:,
2:. Rafael `ainardi is the brother of Virgilio 'ainardi Reyna, prominent member
of the Partido Fievolucionario Dominican (PRD), a grout which occupies
itself with propaganda, rather that with any armed revolutionary effort
against the goverrient of the Dominican Rep?'blica Jose Iioracio Ornes,
als a Dominican exile, is reprrted to be in Habana, and living it the
Hotel San Luis..,
3. "Pedrito" Reyes, Venezuelan, reported to be a good friend of Enrique
Henriq.iez, arrived In Habana on 26 January 1951 and departed for Guatemala
during the week of 12 February 1951. Pedro 'rates Arreaza, Venezuelan, who
departed Haban.: for Guatemala in lat.. January 1951* was arrested by the
Guate-qalan authorities in raid-February 1)51, on the charge that he was
a spy for the Junta of Venezuela. Exile circles believe that '.atos double-

4. Rafael "olina, '.exican, veteran of the Spanish Civil ',+a.r, and reported to
be engaged in the illegal traffic of arms in Central America, is living in
Arroyo Arenas, at the farm of '"anuel Romero Padilla, a Congressman. Since
his arrival in Habana., "olina has had a number of discussions with i;nrique

5. General haul Garcia Rivas, who had been living at Villa "aria, the farm of
Juan Bosch in Arroyo Naranjo, until Bosch left for Costa Rica in December,
is now reported to be receiving financial assistance fro. Rolando '.asferrero
.asferrer is an enemy of Bosch and frequently attacks Bosch in his newspaper,
This action of Garcia Rivas has, as a result, made Bosch and the PRD very
angry with him,.

Juan Isidro Jimenez Grullon, important Dominican exile resident in Puerto
Rico, departed Puerto Rico for Guatemala on 19 or 20 February 1951 to visit
:.:iguel Angel Ramirez, at Ramirez' request,,
7a It is reported that '"iguel Angel Ramirez, who enjoys very good relations
with Jacobo /rbenz, President of Guatemala, and Arbenz' aide, Francisco
lorazan, has no intention of returning to Cuba as planned, but intends to
remain in Guatemala. It is further reported that there has been no recent
talk in Habana that would indicate an attempt by the exile group to invade
the Dominican Republic,
8~ Eufemio Fernandez, Cuban, who was once active in Dominican revolutionary
affairs, was not invited to Guatemala for the inauguration of President
Jacobo Arbenz,. Among exile circles in Habana, Fernandez is considered,
at the present time, to have no connection with any anti-Trujillo activity.
9, Arturo Travera, Dominican, student, age 20, arrived in Habana from lexico
on 22 February 1951., Arturo Travera Ramirez, age 20, student, presumably
the same person, departed Habana for Ciudad Trujillo, Dominican Republic
on 26 February 1951.*

was a member of the Dominican Intelligence Service and had been commissioned
to kill Ramirez and others.,
