L For the last several months Ante Patve1ic 4 who was President of the Nazi-
sponsored Croat Independent Republic (l94I-1944) has been r,,tt/ampting to
orgar ,e his military forces. He has :issued orde-:?s to his imediate
assistants to prepare lists of all fosm,3e r? Croatian ir-MtarY person ,el ac-
cording to their branch of service in the armed forces. Pavelic is pre-
par?ing these lists because he believes that war bets en the We`.tern powers
and the Soviet Union is inevitable and will break out in the A=ediat.,
