On 20 January 1951, the Congress of the Sindacati Unici Classisti (SUC), the pro-Tito labor union, was opened at 7 Via Guardiella in Trieste by Caortolo Petronio, president of the working committee for the reorganiza- tion of the Union, who addressed 400 attending delegates. 2., Fetronio spoke for almost two hours on the work accomplished during the past year by the administrative board of the Union, and pointed out the serious situation of the Trieste workers resulting from the anti-democratic action of the Sindacati Unici, the pro-Cominform Co munist Italian General Confederation of 'Labor. He added that there was no unemployment problem in Zone B. whare the unions were much more helpful in the workers' struggle. ;porkers in Zone B were said to number about eleven thousand and they are divided into 145 labor branches, 2 district committees, 2 district labor councils and 1 district (sic) co.smitteee 3. The Congress was also in session on the following day and among the numerous speakers was Nazario :Tanis from Zone B who spoke on behalf of the district workers.
