Rumania finds herself today
8, ilie real end principal purpose of this aw rk, according to those who maintain
contact in Italy and abroad with the Iron ward, is that of collecting money
in the United States for the support of Iron Guard centers in Europe. In fact
it is known that the real headquarters of the Iron Gu.ard, with Boris Sima at
its head, is at present in Salzburg, Austria, assisting Siraa there is a certain
.iircea Dimitriu who coordinates the v rk of the iron Guard in austria, Italy?
France, and Spain, But it suns that Uiriitriu concentrates more on the internal
organization of the Iron ward than on its international political pro-gran..
An far as the latter program is concerned, it has been placed by Salzburg in
the hands of Octavian hosua. The latter, for purposes of cover, operates behind
the facade of a Rumanian association sponsoring the United a;urope ie-ovement and
of the pseudo-business firm called Dacia.. In these enterprises, he is aided by
the wealthy Rumanian businessman,, Constantin Liragan who is the financial patrons
and the Italian professor, Vier 1n'austo a'alunbo, who is the moral patron.
9,. it is possible that hosu has contacts with Freemasonry. Rosu also is charged
?;ith strengthening ties of friendship with the i'ascista in Italy as well as with
those of Lastern Lurope.
lair, The center for the diffusion of Iron Guard propaganda in iurope isi4iadrid, where
a clique of the iron Guard has charge of the Rumanian section of the Spanish
ivational Radio, The leaders of this propaganda campaign are Uheorghe Uscatoscu
and jiurel Rautu.
It is particularly interesting to note that Radio 2adrid is one of the
broadcasting stations heard best in Rumania. broadcasts in the Run anian
language go out every day at 6?45 p.m., and into each broadcast there is
coven propaganda for the Iron Guards This propaganda is ,justified by the
affirmation that only thus can the Iron Guard bring it to the attention
of the patriots who today are suffering from the results of the bad goverr?ment
of 194am
