After completing inspection of the Ianshan (113- , 21- ) Islands in early September, LI Huai-chang ('~ _1 ),* chief of staff of the Chinese Commu- nist K-wangtung Inland River Fatroo Squadron, appointed LIAPIG K'uei-tting 1 ) as chief of the patrol area from Ilsinhui (113-~06, 22-3k) to Chin ha (113-36, 22-22). LIANG was assigned the follcr in^ boats: customs patrol boats numbers one through seven of the CHIEH FANG ~` class, four motor-driven fishing boats, and four steam tugi. These boat were based at Peichieh (-ir rf) north of Hsinhui. 2. The CHIEH FANG class patrol boats are 40 feet long, have a speed of 15 knots, and are armed with one 25 mm cannon, and two 15 mm machine guns. The motor driven fishing boats have a speed of 10 knots and a gross weight of about 100 tons, and are armed with one small cannon. 3. The following customs patrol beats are,now -patrolling the Wharpoa-Yang.chiang (111-53 21-52) area: HSIENFENG IIAICIIIER ),,** and HAIKANG (ii ft] ~. * The 120-ton customs patrol boats CHUP GYUANNI ( ) ), and MINKUANG {; s) are now patrolling the Shangch t uan (112- , 21- and IIsiachuan (112- 21- ) islands. 25X1A Comment, The i-snection tour was reported in - 25X1A Com .ent.
