1. Only a guard detail of about 20 men was seen in the headquarters building of the
Tauentzien Kaserne on Lutherstrasse, '7ittenherg (N 52/E 37), on 3 and 9 Auj- st
1950. The - Lndows of the building were closed. About 100 soldiers, including
about 50 recruits, nearing red-bordered black epaulets without branch-of-services
insignia and with tank, artillery and signal insignia, occupied the rye: 25X1
alzarten.
The is held basic drill in the barracks yard. Motor vehicles
were seen.
2. On 9 ;ucust 1950 the I3eseler Kaserne housed ab t 80 troops who wore red-bordered
black epaulets with tank insignia. Truck _jwas being repaired in the yard.
3. 'he Flak Kaserne on Tsehailconvskistrasse housed about 150 men. About 40 percent of
then rare red bordered black epaulets with tank insignia; about 40 percent r-d.-
bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia; about 10 percent red-bordered
black epaulets ,?;ithout branch-of-servico insignia; about 5 percent red-bordered
black e ets with signal insignia; and about 5 percent black epaulets. Truck
