16 Under Soviet direction, an oil pipeline has been constructed and is
now in operation along the route Ploesti-Buzau-R innicul Sarat-Focsani.-
kiacau--Roman-Iasi Ungheni, terminating'in either Odessa or Kiev.
2, t 4 natural gas pipeline has. been constructed from Tarnaveni to Kiev.
3. For the construction of this oil pipeline to the USSR, the internal
Rumanian pipelinePloesti-Constanta, Ploesti-Giurgiu, and Ploesti-
Gala i have been dismounted and material used on the present line.
Supplementary material, including pumping stations and ~'4 or 26
centimeter pipe, was bought in Italy in 19494 The pumping station
equipment is now being produced in Rumanian
