1? According to a Rumanian Array officer of field grade rank, there are at
least 1,000 Soviet tanks in Rumania at the present time, of which 200
to 300 are stationed in the forested areas near Timioara,
2. The Soviet Army has large dumps of military supplies in Northern Rumania,
In some portions of Northern Rumania travel is forbidden (Rumanian
military personnel are included in this prohibition), some of the railroad
stations are guarded by Soviet troops and the inhabitants of villages along
some railroad lines are evacuated when certain traffic movements occur.
In the area near Hera sizeable forested areas are guarded by Soviet troope
to prevent all entry into this zone,
