1. The following land and water routes are used by Chinese Communists
sending military supplies to Ho Chi Minh troops:
a) Supplies are sent by land over the Yunnan-Indochina border via
Chennankuan (106-41, 21-58), Chinghai (106-25, 23-09) and Lang Son
(106-45, 21-51) on the Kwangai-Indochina border.
b) Supplies are also shipped by sea from a base in the ":anshan Islands.
These supplies are sent to Hainan by motor junk and then smuggled
to quang Ngai, and Tourane on the central Indochina coast.
From 1 July to 10 august 1950, 570 tons of military supplies were sent
by the Chinese Communists to Viet Minh troops, These included rifles,
machine guns, artillery, artillery ammunition, bazookas, and medical
and communications eouipment.
3o Supplies purchased by the Chinese Communists in Macao for shipment to
the Viet Minh are stored at the Nan Kueng Trading Company,.* Early in
August 1960 four steamers and two motor junks were preparing to carry
military equipment to the t':anehan Islands for shipment to Indochina via
Hainan. It takes approximately two weeks for shipment from Macao to
Indochina.
