`d'he Fa03 Reconnaissance Regiment under the direct control of the North Koreau
GHQ has been attached to the following unitso Qn 25 Jung the regiment left
Pyongyang and joined the 12 Division for the first push across the bordero
OYY 18 July the regiment was attached to the 8 Division at Chongju {127?~~ 3b?S8);
it then joined the Ea Division at Hongchon {12T?5j~~ 37~i-2), and finally joined
the !t. Division at Kongju (1270$, -3?28) m The regiment eras attached to the

of engineers, Ind one m~!dical platoono The battalions were composed of five
companies three motorcycle companies, one 82-same mortar eompar~r, and. one
heavy machine ,gun cq~,pa~r, Tl'Ye mortar company and the machine gun company
were equipped with jeeps, Th? uachine guns are 30 caliber, The companies
are coanpased of three platoons of three squads eacho The motorcycle squads
have four motorcycles with three Yuan on each; one YY~atY is equipped with a
light machine gun and the other two with submachine pones
Jo Prior to the war the regiment ,Ras stationed at Sadong (12~>~.8, J9~p2) on the
outskirts of Pyo~ngyango
The three Korean advisers of the regiment are one colonel and two lieutenant
colonels, who claim to be Soviet citizens, ZlYe senior adviser is a Soviet
lieutenant colonels

The regiment i.s entirely composed of Koreans, the majority of whin were former
members of the Chinese Cc~Yauniat forces, The regiment was completely reequipped
