BELOW) 25X1A RETURN TO tI (LISTED 1; A VP unit of company strength, which. was reassigned from the Havelberg VP school to the "Ring um Berlin" on 28 March 1.950, was motorized during the week of 7 to 14 May 1950,* The unit was issued 16 trucks, 4 passenger cars, 6 motorcycles And 2 motorcycles with sidecars o The motor vehicles 25X1 B The drivers of the vehicles had been de- tached from a motor transport unit In Jrlezen0 2:. The trucks were Dodges and came from Soviet Army stocks They were allegedly duplicated in the i70S450R. They were designed as personnel carriers, having benches to X113 seat one squad and facilities for equipment and ammunition. The passenger cars were Volksrwager and came from former German army stocks and stocks of requisitioned civilian cars They were allotted by the Potsdam motor traffic control office, The motorcycles were recent models from the Eisenach B 47 plant It was said that all VP units belonging to the "Ring um Berlin" were to be motorized,, For this the Soviet Army has placed an adequate number of motor vehicles at the disposal of the Volkspolizei6 25X1A The Havelberg VP school has been reported twice by the same source but has not been confirmed See 25X1 A it was probably confused with the VP school in Gloewen, north of Havelberg, which is confirmed,, 25X1 A -4x ~`.
