If reports that the Partai Nasional Indonesia (PNI) is planning to shift
its support to the Indonesian Republic are correct, there will be only
three political parties supporting the Republik Indonesia Serikat (RIS):
the Masjumi, the majority of its members are followers of Kiayi Mangunsar-
koro, there is a faction that follows Mohamed Natsir; the Partai Katholik;
and the Partai Kristen Indonesia (PARKINDO).
2. The following parties support the Indonesian Republic: Sjahrir?s Partai
Sosialis Indonesia, the Partai Murba, the Parti Komunis Indonesia, and the
Partai Buruh Indonesia.
3. The Partai Indonesia Raya (Pj3,INDRA) has not yet decided on its final
position in respect to the Indonesian Republic and the RIB. For the time
being it is supporting the RIS. Its daily, Indonesia Rayay publishes
articles signed by Muohtar Lubis, actually they are written by Adam Malik,
a Communist and managing director of /NNTAFA0
