On 1 May a new Indonesian labor party was set up, the Partai Buruh (Labor
Party). It is social democratic. Its Executive Council is under P. H,,
Sarojo, a Javanese and a social democrat. Sarojo is now an official in
the Republik Indonesia Serikat (RIS) Ministry of Communications. The
Partai Buruh claims to be progressive, revolutionary, anti-capitalist,
anti-imperialist and patriotic.
2. This
is the third labor party in Indonesia. The other two are:
a. Partai Buruh Indonesia Under the leadership of S? M. Abidin
and Sakirman. Abidin is a professor
of mathematics at Gadjah M da University.
Sakirman represents the party in the
RIS Representative Assembly.*
b. Partai Buruh Under the leadership of Dr. Darmasetiawan.*
