1. On 1.5 iy.arch 1950 eU using (?,' )}_ ), a Ia T'ien krh* leader from N'ing
Chung ( jj 'I~ ) in eastern Chunbshan hsien, arrived in ,aaoao with ton
fol1owers. In April, ktu was staying with a friend on the ground floor
of 9 Yeh luu Ch ien (4S4 z}' , Street. lie and his followers were
collecting money, in ti:e name of the .;.in Sheng ( ti q ) Cornpar r, from
river boats at Chu Chou "i'Vou near cr.?ieri Shan (113-32, 22-14)
on the inlet west of .cacao. The area of~ activity of t~ e group those n
represent is from Ping Chung to Chu Chou 'Y'ou. The organization, which
consists of 100 man with 5 or C machine guns, is under the leadership of
4U Ch?uaa ( 4 ). before coming to i..acao, the men who accompanied
i''U }sing were engaged in carrying information between the field grcup and
the u.acao leader, traveling as smug ;lers on wood rafts between t.acao and
Fling CL' urrg .
2. In early April 1950 river boats calling ati.acao were receiving threatening
letters, demanding money, signed by HO Fang (/- !I ) and CHOU Chun
{ fT ), director and deputy director respective y of the Ssu I Ching

to deliver the mon y to tie offices of the various Ch'ing Len She in
aoao.
