SMV Refining
1, SMV employees have been advised that the Nova?Schwechat refinery is scheduled
to resume production on or about 10 April 1950, Judgine, from the quantities
of sheet metal, iron, fire bricks and cement delivered to this refinery during
the past few necks it seems likely that the Nova ,:';hwechat cracking oven is
being repaired

Ebenseer Solvay iierke, sole Austrian manufacturer of hydrochloric acid, has
stopped selling this commodity to the SAY and to "Chemia" Chemikalien G.mtb.H.
7,Tnless the SHY can purchase hydrochloric acid from Hungary, SMV refineries

9, The SMV has renamed the Rumpel A.G office at Matzen, Office for Geological
Research , and the Rumpei plant in Sieben-
hirten, Mechanical Repair Shops (Mechanische Roparatur ilerkstftten).
10, Over a period of two years, from 1947 until mid 1949 the SMV has imported
about 1,000 deep well pumps from the Soviet Unionll These pumps were re-
paired at the Rumpel plant. in Sisbenhirten at a minimum cost of 700,000 schill-
ings, A short time ago, WI technicians discovered that these pumps are not
satisfactory for their purposes; the pumps are nob being collected at the SMV
Central qarehouse in Neusiedl.

ll. After a period of more than a year, Soviet geologists recently uncovered a
former German pipe line which runs from Muehlbera to Prague in Czechoslovakia.
This line is now being repaired.. SMV employees believe the Soviets may extend
thin 14-,, thn 'Japing station and pump oil directly from this point
to Czechoslovakia
