Training '.hen a soldier first enters the Soviet Army, he is assigned to a squad leader who is responsible for instructing him in a squad with other re- cruits. Yaintenance 3, The daily food ration of a private consists of t2.0 followingg 800 grams of bread, 125 grrcs of meat, 80 grams of fish, 25 grams of sugar, 30 -rams of fat, 10 grs. of flour, and 1 cram of tea. 4, The following is a typical day's menu: a. Breakfast: 250 grams of bread, 12 grams of sugar, soup or rice pulp. b. Lunch: 25G grans of bread, cabbage soup, and rice pulp. C, ST-men ?CO grams of bread, 12 grams of sugar, ixed vegetable soup, and tea. The meals, which an not delicious and not n'ied, are served in big pots to each group of rrn. Privates eat from separate dates, 5, The summer uniform of a private consists of a linen shirt, breeches, a cape, and a pair of shoes. The articles or clothing are suprosed to last for six months and the shoes for eight months. The -inter uniform of a private consists of a jacket made of a cheap material lined with cotton cloth, breeches, a pair of boots, and an overcoat, Previously, boots were given only to corporals and sergeants. Instead of socks, leggings Are issued. These are woolen in the winter and made of ordinary material in the summer, underclothing is rarely issued. The winter clothing is taken to the . "depot" for the summer and brought back again in the fall. 6. Both privates and corporals receive 30 rubles a month and sergeants receive 150 rubles a month. There is lack of discipline among both afficers and enlisted men, in every city or locality where military units are stationed, there is a garrison tribmal. In Ufa this tribunal is headed by Lieutenant Colonel Bakimov (Khakimov, Akimov?), who wears white epaulets on his uniform.
