1. A small hydroelectric plant, which was supposed to have been completed
in 1949, is under construction at Mlini, a small village nine kilometers
south of Dubrovnik. The plant will supply Dubrovnik and vicinity with
sufficient electric power for industry and electric lighting. Because
the water from the natural well has to be diverted in summer for
irrigation purposes, the plant will only be able to supply electricity
in the winter months.
2. So fir, only the buildings, the basin, and all the earthworks have been
completed. The generators and turbines, which were to be supplied by
Czechoslovakia, are currently being constructed in the Rade Koncar .
factory in 7agreb and in the Litostroj Combine in Ljubljana.
