1. The Chinese Communists have 450 long tons of manganese ore 43% Mn in Canton,
200 tons at Wuchou en route to Canton, and 350 tons being ship-Jed to Vachon.
They will guarantee delivery of 10000 tons to Hong Kong within 45 days.
They quote a price of 10C $126 a long ton, delivered to Hong Kong.
.2. Only 1.000 long tons can be shi?raed. each month at the nresent time because
of the shinning nroblem. The Ho River wiLl only take small boats, which
necessitates changing the ore to larger boats at wuchou. There is a shortage
of boats, and there is still bandit trouble along the route.
3. About 21,500 tons are stocked at the mines ready for shipping, and :the Commu-
nists clnim that they can easily nroduce 30000 long tons of ore a month.
