to The professor of inorganic chemistry at the University of Ljubljana, Janko
Kavcic, has developed a new type of cement Yah2.ch w111 be used for heavy
construction work in general and for the construction of tars for hydro-
electric plants in particular, This new cement, denominated "cement h10 (sic),
is being manufactured on an industrial scale in the Salona W1sonzo factory.
The cement is subject to a rise in temperature of only eight to 'ten degrees
in comparison with ordinary cement, vhf ch rises about ;10 degrees centigrade
in large masses.
2. A new factory for the m: lufacture of insulators is currently under con.-
struction in Stup, near Sarajevo. This is the second porcelain factory for
the electrical industry to be built in Yugoslavia, and, together with the
factory recently completed at Novi Sad avid. others under construction, it
will meet the requirements of the Yugoslav electrical industry for porcelain
articles. The proJe ct for this factory was set Lip byEngineer^ Pilo:rado
tiarianovic in 1947, and, in accordance with the Five Year Plan, the factory
is to begin production during 1950, but a lack of skilled labor caused by
