It as been ascertained that, during the last two years,,, the Agrarian
Labor Party of Chile has tripled the number of its committees sca:.O:ttered
throughout the country. At present, this party has l5 provincial and
215 local. :Mot itteeso Forty:-four more local cW mat ,:,,es are in the
pr?o};ess of formation. it is calculated that the Agrarian Labor Pr:ty
has approximately ?5,000 members and its files ^ont?~.in 12,306 applica-
tions for party membership?

however, of ascertaining the strength of the & :vial Christian Conserva-
tive Party; which also belongs to the opposition groxap, since this
party was formed of ter the March 1949 elections and the congressfrG n
representing this party were elected on the unified Conservative Party
ticket.
