la The Angkatan Perang Republik Indonesia (APRI) (Armed Forces of the Republic
of Indonesia) 2 and 3 Divisions occupying Middle Java have been reorganized
into the new 2 Division. The 4 Division (former Siliwangi Division) q
occupying Wes' Java, has become 3 Division. Headquarters of this latter
division are at Buadua, Sumedang in Priangan Residency,
2. This new arrangement provides that ;?iddle Java. will be occupied by 7 infantry
brigades in addition to the special troops in the town of Jogjakarta.
Bandjarnegara is now occupied by a battalion of Lt. Col, Amat Jani ' a ?tuda
Puti Brigade. The battalion is under the command of Major Aartojoo This
area has been considerably terrorized by the Tentera Islam Indonesia (TII),
The Gombong area of Middle Java is occupied by an infantry battalion under
Major Sudarmo0 Capt. Sumantoro is cortlriander of the troops occupying the
town of Gombong.
