1. After the defeat in the Grano ios region, Greek Guerrilla headquarters wore
transferred to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The headquarters which are located in a
factory on Bunardzik hill are known as the "General Staff Headquarters of
the Greek National Liberation Army".
2. By mid.-August, about 7,000 guerrillas had been transferred to the former
Bulgarian Army camp at Gara Kardem, province of Obrich. Sick and wounded
guerrillas have been placed in the hospitals of Varna and Ilevrokop.
3. At Gara Kardem, guerrillas are being reorganized and trained by Russian
instructors, particularly in the use of grenade launchers, mortars and heavy
machine guns.
4. The majority of these guerrillas were evacuated directly to Bulgaria across
the Greek-Bulgarian frontier in the Rhodope zone. Others however, were
transferred to Bulgaria via sea and air from the Albanian camps at Pogradoc
and Korce*
