A military airfield two kilometers leis, 5 n
Beograd-Nis railroad line, Nisava River, and Medosevac covering an area
four kilometers square is now being enlarged. The airfield landing strip
is laid out on,an azimuth of about 135 degrees. It is unpaved and runs
a distance of one kilometer. There are no. special landing field lights
and regular automobile headlights are used. The field has two entrances
one on the north side of the Crveni Krst railroad station and the other
on the south side of Medosevac. The 421st "Jurisi i -Sturmovacki" Air
Regiment of the 2nd Air Division, headquarters at Skopje, is stationed at
this field, where it maintains 33 Soviet-manufactured Stormoviks. Source
alleges the 421st Air Regiment should be assigned 70 aircraft in order to
operate effectively. Two Fieseler Storch aircraft,,also based at this
field, are used as mail transports.
