to Adolfo Ortega Diaz, well-known Nicaraguan revolutionary now in Sen Jose,
Costs Rica, received a communication on 12 April 1949 from grnesto Solorzano
Thompson, Nicaraguan revolutionary contact in New Xork, in whicn Solorzano
stated that General Smiliano Chamorro did not wish to purchase two previously
discussed PB(..'5A amphibious airplanes.* Chamorro felt that the price of the
planes was out of the reach of revolutionary funaso He further suggested
that the dummy aircraft corporation to be set up in connection with the
above., purchase be abandonedo**
20 In his message Solorzano Thompson asked Ortega Diaz if certain 'unidentified
elements would remain stagnant in Guatemala? Source states that this was
probably a reference to the Patriotic Nicaraguan Committee group of Carlos
Castillo Ibarra whicn is known to be concentrating heavily upon their potential
Guatemalan resources at the present time. In this connection source
noted that Rosendo Arguello, Jr., returned to San Jose from Guatemala on
18 rpril 19491,
