The Albanian military units near the Creek Albanian border have recently
been significantly strengthened? They have been ordered to fortify their
positions by digging trenches and constructing machine-gun nests covered
with rows of tree-trunks and a thick layer of earth.
2. Since the beginning of February 1949fl unusual traffic of Albanian military
vehicle convoys has been observed, especially during the night hours, going
from Bilisht toward Boshigrad and back, probably transporting Albanian
troops and their supplies or Greek guerrilla forces. Specifically, on the
night of 9-10 February, a large Albanian military convoy of 5060 OMC
vehicles from Russia was observed; on the arrival of this convoy at
Boshigrad, the inhabitants were ordered not only to stay in their houses,
but not to look out of their windows on penalty of death.
3~ Fear a water-mill near Bozhigrad, there are sheds which are being used as
ammunition depots for supplying the Greek gusarillas. Convoys of 3040
Albanian military vehicles are consteaitly transporting ammunition to
replace what is being received by the Greek guerrillas.
