1. deports from the (Dominican Uopublic concerning a possible invasion of
that country from Guatamels are not confirmed by information received from
Guatemala. Developments which may have caused the Dominicans great alarm
were the shipment of arms to Guatemala on 23 and 26 April from Costa Rica,
the visit of Dominican revolutionary Miguel Angel Remirez in San Jose,
Costa Rica, from 30 April to 2 May,, and Ramirezo eudience with President

2 o Source maintains that the arms are destined for the Guatemalan Army, and
that A.revalo told Ramirez he could furnish no material aid for any
revolutionary activities at the present time. Ramirez himself indicated
in talks with various unidentified revolutionaries that no action is being
planned at the present time against the Dominican Republic.
