lm Mario Diez de Medina, head of the La Paz Departmental Committee of the
Movimniento Nacionalista Revolucionario (MYR), was apprehended by the
police but escaped the day following his capture and Is now at large in
La Paz,,
2. Mario Diez de Medina, Hernan Siles Zuazo, and Federico Alvarez Plata, Who
> candidates for Leputy from La Paz, are directing the affairs of the
WR in that city. All are more or less in hiding, fearful that the police
will arrest and deport them, despite the fact that no state of siege exists
in La Paz?
3 Alvaro Perez del Castillo, Cesar Norma, and Julio Loayza, 11'NR exiles in
Arica, traveled to Tacna, Peru, where they were interned because of illegal
entry.
4. hamon Chacon, W. Molina, and Inocencio Vaca have been released from detention
at Yacuiba, and Anibal Cardoza and Anibal Vaca have been released at Padcaya,
Gustavo Chacon is reported. to have gone from Erica to Santi&go, Chile.
5. In the department of Oruro, the MNR had put forward as candidates for
deputy Luis Pelaez Rioja and Zenon Barrientos. The party also supported
the candidacy of Grover Araujo, of the Federacion Sindicel de Trabajadores
Mineros de Bolivia.
