El Salvador/Mexico SUBJECT Central American Revolutionary Activities PLACE ACQUIRED DATE OF INF . 19-28 March 1949 25X1X REPORT I- Your recent communications between Nicaraguan revolutionaries in El Salvador,, Guatemala, ant Mexico indicate that anti-Somoza activity is still brewing, They also indicate however that the differences which have prevented a union of the Castillo Ibarra group and the Tijerino?Chamorro-Carlos Pasos group are still far from being solved. 2. In a coded letter to Nicaraguan revolutionaries in San Salvador on 28 March, Castillo Ibarra stated that barring last minute difficulties, he expected the movement against Somoza to get under way between 10 and 13 April, He asked his comrades to try to get the Salvadoran government to silence Toribio 'rijerino, suggesting that this might be accomplished through Carlos Llerena hector of the National Un'versity, Ulises Flores? Salvadoran student leader, and Dr. Ricardo Arbizu Basque, a lawyer., 3. Juan Jose keza of the Union Democratica Centroamericana wrote to Castillo Ibarr:i from Mexico on 21. March that Capt. Alberto Bayo was working in Mexico in close collaboration with the reorganized Caribbean Legion, He also ?eveailed that Rosendo Arguello Jr. was coming to Mexico on revolutionary business. Despite the expulsion by Costa Rice of Nicaraguan revolutionary exiles, Julio C.
