(LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO 25X1X 25X1A 25X1A L A meeting of important Communist leaders was allegedly held at the direction of the Cominform in Warsaw, Poland, during December 194, for the purpose of r .king plans to intensify the sabotage of strategic resources in Latin America, In addition, a plan was discussed to send groups of 'lave to Latin America to strengthen Communist activities such as the sabotage program, as well as to strengthen the Communist Party in Latin Amerioa, 20 The following individuals are reported to have attended the meeting:* Vicente Uribe, Secretary for Political Affairs of the Spanish Cormnmist Party Juan Comorera Soler, Secretary General of the Catalan Communist Party Victor Contreras Tapia of the Chilean Communist Party Jose Chonat of the Cuban Corinnmist Party** 3,, Jinn Comorora is reported to be charged with the supervision of Communist parties in Latin 4merica. 40 According to source, the Argentine Communist Party (CPA) was discussed at great length as Communist-Party leaders have little confidence in the leader- ship or revolutionary spirit of Victoria, Codovilla and Rodolfo Ghioldi, Central Committee members of the CPA. Codovilla and Ghioldi were censured for having become decadent and soft and for not having met the challenge of the Peron regime, CormR , It has been established through available records that Uri e,, omorora and Contreras Tapia were in Warsaw, Poland, on 15 December 1948 to attend a Union Congress of Polish Workers' Parties, CoLment, One Emilio Chomat of the Cuban Communist Party was reported several weeks ago to have arrived in Paris from a Cominform meeting reportedly held in Prague in February 1949.
