SUPPLEMENT TO
REPORT NO.
1. :Work in the Neptun shipyards, Rostock, has almost come to a
standstill as a result of an acute shortage of sheet iron,
screws, rivets, fittings, and boiler grates. The sheet iron
situation in particular has grown so desperate that it became
necessary to suspend even the overhauling work on torpedo boats
and destroyers.

2. The last consignment of sheet iron and shaped iron came, allegedly,
from the Soviet Union; however, it was later discovered that it
had actually been shipped from German mills in Essen and
Oberhausen and had reached Rostock after being reloaded twice
on the way.
