1. The Political Bureau of the Spanish Communist Party will be split in two,
according to information received by source in late January 1949. One
group., composed of the older members, will go to Prague but will maintain
clandestine direction of the Party's policies. The other, which source
predicted would be headed by Juan COMOR RA, will be composed of the more

recently named members and will continue to operate openly in France as
long as circumstances permit. Comment. The names of members
