1. During the course of an interview on 11 January, Carlos Castillo ibarra,
exiled leader of the Patriotic Nicaraguan Committee, obtained from the
leaders of the Salvadoran governing Junta the promise of "moral suprort"
and financial aid comprising *30,000 to x'50,000 for the 'Nicaraguan
revolutionary cause. There were no strings attached to the money, which
was to be used at Castillo Ibarra's discretion.
20 The Salvadoran spokesmen, Dr. Reinaldo Galindo Pohl and Dr. Humberto Costa,
refused Castillo Ibarra'e request for the use of Salvadoran territory as
a base of operations or for the storage of material.
