General CH MG Tiny;-fang commander of the 94 Army., has left Peiping by plane.
He took with him 500 (?5 Kuomintang gestapo (ale) leaders who threatened
civil disorder unless rescued (B-6).
2. General SHIN Chueh, commander of the 13 Army, has left for Tsingtao, and
possibly for the United States.
3. The Chinese Communists have promised General FU Tao-yi that he can retain
command of his own troops, the 101 Division and Temporary 3 Army, under-the
new Peiping government. tiabether FU resigns depends on the outcome of peace
negotiations by the Nanking government.
The interim period, beginning with the removal of Nationalist troops from
the city'and ending with the arrival of the new mayor, is scheduled to last
one week, although it may be extended if the national.peace settlement
appears imminent.
