Dr. Suripno (not to be con used with the leader of the recent Communist revolt) is forming another Sentral Organisasie Buruh Seluruh Indonesia(SOBSI) at Djalan Purwosari, Solo. The was of the organization is Persatuan Organisatie Buru (Coordination of Labor Organizations). 2. The purpose of the organization is to utilize labor as a force for achieving Indonesian independence by supporting the Indonesian Republic. About 80 percent of the former SOBSI members have joined this organization. 3. Dr. Suripno was associated with Clarence H. Campbell in 1946 in the organization of the Marx House at [ladiun and its affiliated bodies at Kediri and Jogjakarta. Sarekat--Buru Mobil The majority of the Indonesian corkers in the assembly plant of General Motors at Tandjongpriok are members of the Sarekat Buru Mobil (Indonesian Motor Workers, Union). The chairman of the central council of this union is Dr. A. Mochtar, a well-known communist. The local council in Batavia consists of: Chairman A.M. Rusli Deputy Chairman Darpi secretary S. Ukar Sarekat Buru Kapa dan Pelabuan 5a Some of the workers of the above noted plant of General Motors are members of Haidiono Kusumo Utoyors Sarekat Buru Kapa dan Pelabuan. The- Huachiae Ts Bung Hui (Overseas Chinese Labor Association) >r.e organised tar "cadre" Huang Chin Ta :(trained tr the Sin Ming Lao Enng Hui in Batavia). This organization has proved to be a Communist unit in disguise. THE Ban Djoe, one of the councillora, and a correspondent at, Semarang of the Sena Bob Pao, a Batavia Chinese Communist daily, has been arrested. Another Chinese Communist to be arrested was LIE Sik May of Semarang. Persatuan Pegawai Minjak 7. About 4,000 ex-membere of the Tentera Nasional Indonesia(M) are - now oil workers in the oil fields of the American Standard Vacuum CompanT at Soengeigerong, near Palembang. They have organized the Persatuan Pegavai Minjak, a trade union advocating unitarian Republicanism. S. This organization is part of the SOBSI of Sumatra under the leadership of Dr. Kariauddin. The former leader, Milian Tobing,is now dead. 9. The Persatuan Pegawai Minjak has its own political center and schools for their children where politics is taught. 10. The welfare authorities of the Standard Vacuum are providing these workers with a Social and SportsDDeparta3at in order to neutralize their political efforts. Chung Hue Lo Kung Tsung Hui 11. The Chung 8ua Lo Sung Tsung Hui (Chinese Miners' Trade Union) of Tandjong Paden, Billiton, is composed entirely of Chinese miners from Swantung Provinoe, China. The members of this organisation, are employed in the Dutch government-owned mime. In 1946 members of this union had difficulties caused by the Batavia branch of SOBSI.
