SUPPLEMENT TO
REPORT NO.
According to German prisoners-of-war returned from the Soviet Union, guided
missiles are being produced in the vicinity of Kaliningrad in the Moscow area.
The factory lies south of a railway line near a station. A second factory,
located at the same station but north of the railway line, produces guns.

the factory north of the railway which is working on guided missiles, and
the one south of the station which produces guns.)
2. The conversion of the first-mentioned plant to the production of V-weapons
was began at about the beginning of 1947 (or, in any case, during the winter
of 194-47). Throughout 1947, the factory workshops and halls were enlarged
and machines were installed. It is believed that the machines originated in
Germany, since they had German markings and had been used.
3. Belonging to the factory is a camp holding about 1,500 prisoners-of-war.
The number varied, however, from 1,000 to 2,000 during the construction work.
According to an. unconfirmed report, the number of Russian workers was from
4,000 to 6,,000. It was estimated that there was one German prisoner to every
three or four Russian workers.
About.50 German engineers also were employed at this factory. Research was
done mainly by Germans. There were possibly 40 to 70 Russian engineers or
technicians employed there.
Up to the winter of 1947-45, only a few parts for V-2s but no complete
missiles were produced in the factory. Parts for V-2s delivered from
Germany were assembled in the factory and the completed missiles were trans-
ported to another location. According to another report, the completed
projectiles were transported to a testing station located in a forest south
of Kaliningrad.: A train on which a V-weapon projector had been mounted had
long stood at the factory but was never used.
6. There is an airfield south (sic) of the factory, connected to a railway
station by a double-track line which goes through the factory,
