1. The ship LIVADIA, built in the Gans Shipyards, was turned over to
the Soviets at the end of August 1948. The ship, displacing 800 tens,
was built in 800,000 man hours.
2. This is the sixth sea-going ship built for the Russians by this
shipyard. In the first half of 1948, two ships of 1,100 tons
and one of 830 tons were built and turned over to the Soviet Union.
In addition to the above, a floating orane with a capacity of 100
tons, and eight other cranes were built.
3. By the first eight months of 1948 the Ganz .shipyards built iron-oon-
struction bridges for the following places in Hungary=
Gubaos
Zahony
Margaret Island (Budapest)
Szeged
4. In late August.2,600 men worked at the shipyard. The new director
is Karl Janza. Chairman of the Operating Committee is Joseph Hajou;
Party leaders at the plant are Joseph Prepost and Paul Vig.
