1. Juan Jose Meza of the Patriotic Nicaraguan Committee left El Salvador for
Guatemala on 28 December to check on the readiness of the Mexican and other
airmen under the command of Alberto Bayo. Bayo is a former Spanish Republican
army officer who has offered his services to the Nicaraguan revolutionaries.
2. Carlos Castillo lbarra has reined in El Salvador pending the outcome of
consultations of Maj. Oscar Osorio and Humberto V1llalta with other governi.-
ment leaders on the subject of Salvadoran aid.
