la President Arevalo of Guatemala received Rosendo Arguello Jr., Gen. Emiliano
Chamo.rro, and other Nicaraguan revolutionaries on 23 December but promised
them nothing more than moral support and permission to travel to and from
Guatemala without hindrance, Arevalo carefully avoided any promise of
military aid againa+t either Somoza or President Carias of Honduras.
2. Arguello Jr. and his party returned to San Jose, Costa Rica on the afternoon
of 23 December.
