1. General Nicolae Radescuta first attempt to form a "Military Council" that
would adhere to his "Democratic Union of Free Rumanians" has met with
failure. The idea of a "Military Council" was given up following the
receipt by Gez)eral Radescu of a letter from Colonel Ioanovici, Co:ronal
Tomoroveanu,/Colonel Neferu, and Com rider Arpad Gherghel, leaders of the
Rumanian career officers in Paris, in which the General was informed
that career officers could not join a political group.
2. The following officers have joined General Radescuss "Union": Lieutenant
Colonel Atanasiu, former Assistant Military Attache to Vichy; Major'
Maftei., a leader of the Iron Guard in Austria; and Captain Gheorghi
Iliescu, Assistant Military Attache in London in 191a0a,
