1., Elements of the Caribbean Legion quartered in the Bella Vista Cuartel are
hoping the Costa Rican government will authorize them to 'take action against
the Calderon Guardia invasion.
2. P:`eanwhile, the attempts of the Costa Rican government to weaken the war
potential of the legion were opposed by Guatemalan gajor Senabria, head of
a delegation of seven Quatemalan officers who arrived in San Jose on .12 December.
Sanabria and his men stoppea the transfer of six hundred arms to the Costa
}+.ican government, after two hundred had already been turned over.
3. Juan Rodriguez Garcia, the Lominican financier of the Legion, is pressing
.,ithout success for the liquidation of Figueresv obligation to the Legion.
4. The hosendo Arguello Jr. faction and the Caribbean Legion continue to work at
cress purposes.
5. Three of five-TACK DC-3 aircraft now operating in the service of the Costa Ric an
government departed for Cuba on 13 December and returned early the morning of
14 Lecamber. They secretly unloaded cases which are believed to 'have contained
arms.
6. Tieinaldo Arguello, brother of hosondo Arguello Jr., travelled as a passenger
fined in Cuba to consult Juan Bosch, aide to Cuban President Prio.
