the above reenort may have sorie connection with a statement rrtde by .1ndre
!1unschy, who has been ne/*otiating for the investment of ille{*ally obtained
French canital in Ec'tador (see SO-16207). Nunschy stated that, in aldition
to his own group, there Wero other investors in Europe who desired to riako
sound investments in Latin America. The true identity of the investors could
be concealed by wor'cing through intermediaries in Switzerland. ; unschy stated
that he ha-1 been confidentially informed that high Soviet officials and fray
or fi^.ers had sent their personal. funds to Switzerland for reinvestment in
"^tin 1r_erica and Carv.da, the latter country re^eiving preference.
