The Argentine government has a small expedition ready to leave Puerto
Belgrano. Bahia Blanca for maneuvers this (Argentine) summer i,i the
Falkland islands and Antarcti-c waters. However, the original plans
for the expedition may be modified as a result of the conference in
London between 13ranmgli~a and Revin, at which time it was agreed that
r .ther country would conduct naval demonstrations in Antarctic waters
this summer,
2. The Argentine government has inaifitained an official silence on the
Brarmi lia-Bevan conversation., However, even if it abides by Bramugliaxs
comritment, the Argentine Navy can send a small unarmed expedition to the
Falkland Islands on the pretext of relieving the Navy's meteorologic-P-1
detachment based there. Such an expedition would consist of unarmed
corvettes and transport ships,
