In in early 1946 Hindro / rtono macs appointed Resident Commissioner of
the Residency of Rembang by Soekarno upon the advice of the then kinister
of Defense, Amir S jaarifoedin,. Martono, a somewhat fanatic Co mist,
has exerted influence over the Residency including its towns of
Bodjonogoro and Toeban (a port). He refers to himself as "Commissar"
instead of as "Residency ?!
