1. The 'Lovitaiento de f.a Demooraoia de Accion Social Cristiana (MDASC), a social
motion group sponsored by the Jesuits in Cuba, allegedly will attend the
Inter- rican Congress of Catholic Social Aotion in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
In the near future. The National Catholic Welfare Conference (NcWC) of
Washington, D. C., will also participate in this moeting.
2. According to Dr. Arenas Arwinan, delegates from Argentina, Chile and Colombia,
in an effort to lessen the influence of the NCWC~ which they feel is con-
trolled by United States ~ratholio faotions, propose that the Catholic social
action mc' nant its the `.'festern Hemisphere be divided into four separat' groups..
According to sourco, the first group will represent Latin M rica; the second
will represent Portuguese or Brazilian elements, the third will represent the
United States; and the fourth will represent the Canadian Catholic social
action group.
8. Representatives of the TMASC to attend the Congress reportedly will be
the Reverend Father t+fant al. Foyaca, de la Concha, a Jesuit of Cuban birth
who is also the founder and director of the Demoeraoia Social Cristiana,
Dr. Abel Teurbe Tolon, the President of the group, and Dr. Valentin Arenas
Arminian, President of the Junta de .Aooion Catolica Cubana.
